What is Mattei?
Cap Corse Mattei belongs to the French quinquina aperitif tradition, in which cinchona bark brings a distinctive bitterness. Rouge 0.0% follows the original recipe before the alcohol is removed. It is an alcohol-free aperitif to serve before a meal or use as a cocktail base.
The name L.N. Mattei
L.N. stands for Louis Napoléon Mattei. He founded the business in Bastia, Corsica, in 1872 and developed drinks connected to the island's ingredients. Since 2016, the distillery has been based in Aléria on Corsica's east coast. His name links the founder with an aperitif tradition continued in this alcohol-free version.
